Whats with the media’s love for Cubs

Published by asobel at 5:05 pm under LA Sports Edit This

celebratingI am so sick of hearing this crap about the Cubs… Yes they choked.  Dempster pitched horribly, and the Dodgers capitalized.   The Cubs made a few errors, and the Dodgers capitalized.  But all the talk is about the Cubs, they can’t hit after they hit all year, they can’t pitch after they pitched all year, they can’t field after they won gold gloves…

What about the Dodgers!!!  I was watching the same games and what I saw was Lowe and Billingsley over match cubs hitters.  I saw Dodger fielders turning the double plays, making catches in the Ivy, and making leaping catches to snare line drives.  I’ve watched each Dodger hitter approach each at bat with strategy, running up the pitch counts on each Cubs pitcher, and delivering clutch hits with men on base.

Lets remember the scores of these games were 7-2 and 10-3 so it’s not like a couple of Fukudome strikeouts were the difference, or even the five unearned runs scored in Thursdays game.  Sure the games would have been closer, but the Dodgers outplayed Chicago in every facet, and it’s time for the people and the media to recognize that and not blame it on this lame ‘Curse’.
